About The Position

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright for their Lumber Mill in Grifton, NC. This role involves skilled mechanical maintenance tasks, including installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems. The position also includes troubleshooting, exposure to industrial electricity issues, lubrication, cleaning, maintenance planning, layout work, welding, and metal fabrication. Adherence to safety lockout procedures, plant safety rules, and good housekeeping practices is essential. The role requires the ability to work independently and in a group, and a commitment to a straight weekend schedule with potential holiday work as needed. Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools and precision measuring and test instruments.
  • Experienced in pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
  • Excellent skills in root cause analysis.
  • Skilled in more than one aspect of mechanical maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Stable employment history with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Industrial Maintenance field OR equivalent education to include vocational/technical school certificate.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team oriented.
  • Commitment to follow all unit electrical/maintenance practices.
  • Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills.
  • Must be able to work weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical/trade school certificate or education.
  • Past employment experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Past employment in a wood manufacturing facility.
  • Proficient in precision measuring equipment.
  • Previous experience with SAP or other CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled mechanical maintenance tasks, including installation.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
  • Troubleshoot and address industrial electricity issues.
  • Determine and carry out maintenance and repair actions to return equipment to effective operating conditions.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Perform maintenance planning, layout work, welding, and metal fabrication as required.
  • Follow and adhere to safety lockout procedures and plant safety rules.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices.
  • Work independently as well as in a group.
  • Work a straight weekend schedule.
  • Work holidays on an as needed basis.
