About The Position

Schaeffler Aerospace USA Corp. is seeking Industrial Mechatronics Mechanic (IMM) Apprentices to join its Connecticut Registered Apprenticeship Program in support of aerospace manufacturing operations. This role combines paid on-the-job learning (OJL) with related technical instruction (RTI) to develop the skills required for a career in advanced industrial maintenance within a highly regulated aerospace environment. As a Registered Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced Industrial Mechatronics Mechanics (journeyworker-level) while progressively developing technical knowledge and practical skills required for full occupational competency.

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial maintenance
• Foundational knowledge or exposure to CNC machining equipment and PLC systems preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools
• Willingness to work at elevated heights and obtain aerial lift certification
• Must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
• Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks under the direction of a qualified mentor
• Conduct routine, corrective, and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, equipment irregularities, and breakdowns
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
• Communicate equipment issues clearly and accurately
• Assist with welding and fabrication tasks as required
• Identify defective components and perform repairs or replacements
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures
