This role is located at Cargill, Eddyville, IA.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • 5+ years' experience in industrial maintenance and/or 4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies / engineering preferred.
  • Working knowledge of using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to control precision with machine or vehicle controls.
  • Manual dexterity to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
  • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to "Safety First" expectations including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment in conformance with established standards.
  • Work without supervision.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards/work procedures and provide work order feedback on discrepancies.
  • Use hand and power tools daily, including power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, hydraulic pullers), rigging equipment, and perform welding and cutting torch operations as required.
  • Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc., utilizing fall protection equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in the development of short- and long-range planning in support of company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented personal tool list.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
