About The Position

This role involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance on various industrial equipment in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment. The technician will be expected to work without supervision and contribute to the formulation of preventive maintenance standards. The position requires a working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance. The technician will also operate heavy industrial equipment and work from elevated areas, ensuring compliance with all company and customer regulations. Accurate and timely administrative duties, such as time accounting and work order completion, are also expected, along with maintaining positive customer and employee relations.

Requirements

Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
5+ years' experience in industrial maintenance.
Ability to observe details at close range.
Ability to control precision, quickly and repeatedly adjusting controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
Manual dexterity to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Ability to perform substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
Working knowledge of using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.

Nice To Haves

AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies / engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment.
Ensure repairs and preventive maintenance are performed in conformance with established standards.
Work without supervision to complete assigned tasks.
Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures.
Provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
Use hand tools such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment.
Perform welding and use a cutting torch.
Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc., utilizing fall protection equipment.
Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
Communicate with all team members to assist in the development of short- and long-range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.
Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented personal tool list.
Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
