Clark Nexsen is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Technical Designer III. This role involves applying engineering techniques to design and evaluate integrated systems for industrial production processes, encompassing human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The designer will apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes and production standards, considering workflow, layout, and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilities. They will draft and design equipment, material, and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computers, ensuring designs meet organizational and production goals. This position requires a high degree of latitude, expert knowledge of the subject matter, and minimal supervision. The designer will handle complex issues, referring only the most complex to higher-level staff, and provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced staff. They may also act as a lead or first-level supervisor. The role performs industrial and mechanical engineering services on projects of varying scope for facilities processing minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, and petrochemicals, requiring substantial knowledge in areas such as bulk material handling, process piping, conveyance equipment, dust collection, chute fabrication, tank/bin design, rotating equipment, and equipment platforms/catwalks. Familiarity with MSHA standards and experience in Design/Build and EPC project delivery methods are highly desired.
