About The Position

We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team at our Savannah, Georgia location. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance on process and production equipment throughout the facility. Duties may include but are not limited to pipe fitting, welding, sheet metal fabrication, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment and preventative maintenance with the goal of improving facility and process reliability. Work shifts may include 8- or 12-hour shifts, which will be days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays. Plant operations occur in a 24/7 environment and required work includes work that may be in inclement weather, as part of confined space entry or as part of a confined space team and may occur at heights up to 150 feet. Participation in Confined Space, Emergency Response, and Safety programs and processes are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pipefitting, pipe assembly and installation – Preferred
  • Pump rebuilds and installation – preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of up to 480v electrical circuits – preferred
  • Chemical industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Observe all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment; report all injuries, accidents and hazards immediately
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, electronic repair and preventive maintenance
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs in a timely manner
  • Read equipment manuals as needed assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment
  • Complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed
  • Install and Dismantle Equipment

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with specifications and codes
  • Computer skills - Able to use available computer systems and MS Office products with little or no assistance
  • Communicating effectively and working with others – Able to work with peers and engineering support to develop and implement solutions to problems/issues
  • Problem Solving / Troubleshooting – Able to obtain, analyze and interpret data/information and develop solutions to issues/problems
