About The Position

The Industrial Mechanic – Feed Mill is accountable for supporting the identification and planning of capital projects, repairs and preventative maintenance for all operational facilities. They will work closely with Regional Operations Managers and third-party vendors to ensure safe, accurate and timely execution of equipment and infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.

  • Basic Microsoft Office application competencies

  • WHMIS, working from heights, forklift, tag out/lock out, confined space entry, and first aid training are all assets; training will be provided

Responsibilities

  • Synergize with internal/external stakeholders to facilitate equipment maintenance and infrastructure planning
  • Support the management of day-to-day and long-term maintenance and projects
  • Maintain documentation of all assigned maintenance policies, procedures and schematics
  • Maintain inventories of replacement parts and tools
  • Facilitate cost-effective purchases of required labour, materials and supplies using established vendor accounts
  • Document and record all maintenance in the Maintenance Log for each site
  • Perform repair and maintenance work in a way that is compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Provide maintenance mentorship to the Operations team, lead by example and model safe work practices and habits
  • Plan preventative maintenance activities and scheduled facility inspections, and facilitate appropriate corrective measures
  • Identify and document deficiencies, recording and escalating them to the Regional Operations Manager in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the Regional Operations Manager to monitor overall plant operations and identify equipment bottlenecks
  • Work closely with the Regional Operations Manager to ensure site organization, cleanliness and functionality
