About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation of equipment for various departments within a location. This role requires adherence to schedule and regular attendance, including assigned overtime. The technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, ensuring all tools are properly stored, and performing routine housekeeping. All work must be conducted in accordance with established safety procedures, and any unsafe conditions must be reported to the supervisor. The position involves utilizing a variety of tools to repair and perform preventative maintenance on plant and building equipment as per company guidelines. This includes inspecting equipment, replacing damaged parts, ordering and installing new parts, and welding as needed. The technician will also assist with minor electrical repairs, read and interpret manuals, or communicate with vendors for proper maintenance and installation. Additional duties include collecting and discarding worn machine parts, cleaning machines and parts using various methods and solvents, and preparing chemical solutions for cleaning or repair.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated maintenance experience.
  • Between 2 to 5 years of previous related experience.
  • Ability to utilize basic tools to perform routine maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Crane and Hydraulics maintenance.
  • Skilled with the use of tools and measurement devices.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site.
  • Works overtime as assigned.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing).
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor.
  • Utilizing a variety of tools, repairs and performs preventative maintenance to equipment throughout the plant and building as required by company guidelines.
  • Inspects equipment to ensure it is in good working order; replaces damaged parts of equipment with new parts; orders parts and installs appropriate parts to machinery; welds parts to equipment during repairs or installations as needed.
  • Assists with minor electrical repairs.
  • Reads and interprets written manuals or communicates with vendors as needed to ensure equipment is properly maintained or installed.
  • Collects and discards worn machine parts; cleans machines and machine parts using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment; removes hardened material from machines or machine parts using abrasives, power and hand tools, sledgehammers, or other equipment; measures, mixes, prepares, and tests chemical solutions used to clean or repair machinery and equipment.
