About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation, safety, and efficiency of our light industrial manufacturing facility. This mid-to-high level role requires a skilled electro-mechanical troubleshooter capable of diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production and facility equipment. With minimal automation in the facility, the ideal candidate relies on strong foundational mechanical aptitude, proactive preventative maintenance, and independent problem-solving to minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment (Mid-to-Senior level).
  • Minimum of 2 years of vocational/technical training or a completed apprenticeship in industrial mechanics, electricity, pneumatics, or hydraulics.
  • Completed coursework in industrial electricity, motor controls, and basic industrial electronics/PLCs.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
  • Proficient with Windows-based PCs for tracking work orders (CMMS) and basic PLC diagnostic interfacing.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to find root causes of equipment failure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for updating shift logs, reporting to leadership, and collaborating with operators.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for inventory control and material ordering.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical components on plant equipment, including mill machinery, panel saws, CNC routers, air tools, and conveyor systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure (up to 480V).
  • Perform basic PLC troubleshooting to diagnose system logic errors (deep programming not required).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electric lift equipment and forklifts.
  • Perform scheduled periodic and preventative maintenance on all facility and production equipment to maximize machine longevity.
  • Participate in the installation, modification, and commissioning of new or rebuilt equipment.
  • Utilize a PC-based Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, log parts usage, and document equipment history.
  • Provide detailed shift status reports regarding unusual maintenance problems.
  • Strict adherence to all OSHA standards, local/national electrical codes, and company safety policies.
  • Consistently execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry procedures.
  • Train, guide, and mentor junior or back-up Maintenance Support Technicians.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and work environment.
  • Act as a self-starter who works effectively with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with production leadership.
