About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial equipment, facility systems, and machinery to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role performs routine, planned, and preventative maintenance; responds to equipment breakdowns; diagnoses mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues; and ensures repairs are completed accurately and in accordance with safety standards, operating procedures, and business needs. In addition, this role serves as a subject matter expert and project lead for reviewing contractor plans, coordinating construction or repair work, and ensuring completed work meets company expectations, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience at a distribution or manufacturing facility of comparable level of responsibility in projects of similar size, scope and complexity
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, decision making skills, problem analysis and conflict management skills, particularly in pressure situations
  • Ammonia cooler system and Cal ARP program knowledge
  • Self-starter, must be able to work with a sense of urgency and maintain ongoing project deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator

Responsibilities

  • Develop scope, plans and manages work projects for the maintenance of facilities including but not limited to HVAC, internal structural systems including dock doors/ auto rollup doors/ speed doors, roofing, driveway, parking lots, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Manage and execute preventative maintenance program for all pallet jacks, forklift equipment, dock leveling devices, dock doors, utilizing approved vendor and also able to carry out basic maintenance.
  • Inspect plant facilities or review inspection reports to determine repairs, replacements, or improvements required
  • Manage contract administration and construction supervision for various facilities maintenance projects to ensure contract compliance with specifications
  • Carry out general maintenance, repair, or renovation and may obtain bids for additional work from outside contractors
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints, repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessary
  • Serve as a building emergency contact and will respond to emergency services as they arise
  • Communicate emergency issues to Operations Manager with a sense of urgency to resolve matters quickly for the needs of the building operation
  • Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, etc. as needed and approved by Operations Manager
