Industrial Maintenance Tech Are you someone who thrives on solving mechanical puzzles and jumping into action whenever needed? Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Maintenance Technician! This role is perfect for those who are mechanically minded and love to troubleshoot. You'll work a flexible schedule that values work-life balance and provides opportunities for growth and learning. Schedule: Monday to Friday Shift overlap to cover morning and evening (e.g., 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) Alternating weekly between day and afternoon shifts (subject to discussion)

Requirements

  • Pass fit-for-duty testing, including medical, drug and alcohol, and a criminal record check.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as part of the physical requirements.
  • Journeyman Millwright: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • Millwright Red Seal endorsement: Required to ensure interprovincial mobility and recognized expertise.
  • At least 3 years of full-time journeyman work experience: Prior experience ensures proficiency without extensive training.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Commitment to safety and a strong focus on adhering to safety regulations.
  • Ability to work well with other technical staff and support various departments.
  • Willingness to assist with operational tasks beyond maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and maintain heavy mechanical equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifecycle.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, such as lubrication and part replacement.
  • Assist with rail car movements and other operational tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a strong culture of safety.
  • Identify and repair problematic equipment using diagnostic tools.
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery to assist with installations.
  • Use hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery during setup and repair.
  • Maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Communicate maintenance procedures, issues, and concerns to management.
