Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of facility industrial systems such as mechanical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems. Assist other trades and workers with all phases of facility maintenance. This role requires a strong pipefitting background and experience in piping, valve replacement, backflow preventers, and plumbing. The technician will perform various jobs calling for specialized skills, including building, installing, and repairing equipment, troubleshooting failures, and dismantling and repairing components. They will install, maintain, and repair industrial/mechanical systems such as motors, drainage pumps, exhaust/supply fans, ventilation fans, and piping for fire main systems, drainage pipes, water supply, and gravity systems. The role involves installing and repairing general piping, valves, and tubing up to 8” diameter, and working with pneumatic components. The technician will work from drawings, make special tools, and operate machine tools and precision measuring instruments. Responsibilities also include laying out, cutting, and installing sheet metal guards, hoods, and spouts, as well as performing electric and gas welding. The job requires continuous skill updating, record keeping, and maintaining tools and equipment. Safety is paramount, and the technician must adhere strictly to safety guidelines. Overtime, on-call participation, and various shifts may be required. The role involves working in a group environment and performing physical activities such as stooping, bending, reaching, working from ladders and at heights, climbing stairs, erecting scaffolding, and lifting up to 65 lbs. Working in confined spaces and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are also requirements. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.
