About The Position

We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime by responding to trouble calls and performing mechanical and electrical repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position operates on an overnight shift.

Requirements

  • Very good understanding of electricity and currents.
  • Knowledgeable with 480v and 277v, 3 phase, breakers, disconnects, motor starters, motor inverters, transformers, motors, and overloads.
  • Ability to test electrical equipment to determine functionality.
  • Knowledgeable with high output power supply functions & repairs (600V variable frequency 40-80kHz).
  • Knowledge in control wiring practices using 24vac, 24vdc, and 110vac.
  • Able to read electrical prints using US and international standards and symbols.
  • Familiar with PLC's and ability to describe typical structure and layout in detail.
  • Ability to maneuver around ladder logic programs from different manufacturers (e.g., AB, GE).
  • Knowledge of ladder logic functions and operands for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to modify circuits to accept changes (e.g., remote on/off, gauging, current limit, circuit isolation, extra/new switches, new branch circuits, i/o modification, terminal assignments, sizing of motor starters and protection, extra devices).
  • Familiar with the use of electrical testing equipment such as DMM (digital and analog), Meg-ohm-meter (megger), ammeter, data loggers, oscilloscope.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Common knowledge of equipment and line operation.
  • Able to follow directions and have accountability for completing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely, utilizing LOTO procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Keep equipment running by answering trouble calls for coating lines, glass edging lines, and plant equipment (air compressors, cooling towers, water pumps, etc.).
  • Perform mechanical repairs and assist with electrical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, ensuring root causes are addressed or reported.
  • Maintain open communication with other maintenance technicians, operators, and management through written communication in MP2, logbooks, and on the shop whiteboard.
  • Conduct walk-throughs twice per shift.
  • Complete work orders in order of priority and write work orders for completed tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including the upkeep of the work area and assigned maintenance cart.
