Requirements

  • Strong ability to use independent judgment in determining work processes and actual job performed.
  • Basic level of demonstrated competence in electricity/electronics, hydraulic/pneumatics, individual components, system and control configurations, associated schematics and documentation.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge, welding, plumbing, and machining.
  • Ability to design and layout electrical distribution systems for equipment installation.
  • Ability to design and layout plumbing systems (air, water, etc.) for equipment installation.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic is required.
  • Basic skills in oral and written communication.
  • Computer skills – Use of CMM, Equipment software (PLC, OPI), OFFICE S/W.
  • State certified DOL journeyman’s card/UAW maintenance machine repair card.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMM, Equipment software (PLC, OPI), and OFFICE S/W.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including checking lubrication levels, filling and greasing, and cleaning press pans.
  • Operate recycle equipment, clean, and paint equipment.
  • Assist with job set-ups, including making adjustments outside the scope of set-up associates.
  • Provide assistance to Production Supervisors in training associates on new or modified equipment.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as required by the supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot all equipment.
  • Perform repairs (to factory technology level) of air compressors.
  • Perform electrical repairs of all equipment.
  • Perform mechanical repairs (up to factory technology level) of all equipment.
  • Perform gas, arc, and heli-arc welding on various equipment.
  • Perform adjustments of vision systems and fiber optic systems.
  • Write technical data for set-up, checking, and troubleshooting.
  • Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) rules and procedures.
