About The Position

Huntsman is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician supporting the HATC Shared Services Division located in HATC, TX. This position will report to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager. The Industrial Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance, reliability, and operational integrity of the Huntsman Advanced Technology Center (HATC). This role primarily supports the site Master Electrician in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the facility’s electrical infrastructure and equipment. In addition to electrical responsibilities, the position requires proficiency in multiple industrial maintenance disciplines, including plumbing, mechanical systems, facility maintenance, and minor fabrication work. The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment while supporting ongoing maintenance and facility operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience as an Electrician Apprentice.
  • Strong background in electrical installations and electrical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with electrical equipment, motors, control panels, and power distribution systems.
  • Exposure to Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and PLC systems.
  • Experience with plumbing systems and fittings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience operating lifts and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the site Master Electrician with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, lighting, machinery, motors, control panels, switchgear, and three-phase power systems up to 480 VAC.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, and related documentation.
  • Perform and document preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, inspections, and testing activities in the site CMMS.
  • Execute site Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures in compliance with safety requirements.
  • Maintain required site safety certifications and continue progress toward obtaining a Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Coordinate with contractors and monitor activities to ensure compliance with all EH&S policies and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility infrastructure systems, including waste, potable water, deionized water, and gas plumbing systems.
  • Support general facility maintenance activities, including building and grounds upkeep.
  • Assist with laboratory instrument calibrations, safety system testing and inspections, and site event support activities.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and support on-call maintenance needs as required.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and participate in corrective actions.
  • Support company goals through collaboration with maintenance, engineering, operations, and other site personnel.
  • Participate in company-required training programs and Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
