About The Position

The Freeman Corporation is seeking an experienced and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining industrial equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working in industrial manufacturing environments, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates with strong diagnostic abilities, preventative maintenance experience, and a safety-first mindset are highly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience in industrial environments
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, torches, welders, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Strong attendance and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial conditions including heat, dust, noise, and heights

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in wood products, veneer, sawmill, or heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience with conveyors, boilers, dryers, presses, or rotating equipment
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift experience
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems such as MaintainX, SAP, Fiix, or Maximo

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial manufacturing equipment and production machinery
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and predictive maintenance activities
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and conveyor system issues
  • Repair and maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, pumps, valves, and power transmission systems
  • Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and general mechanical repairs as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS system
  • Support plant safety initiatives and follow all OSHA and company safety policies
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization within maintenance areas
  • Work closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and improve reliability
