Industrial Maintenance Technician - Millwright
About The Position
FerroWorks is seeking an Equipment Tech/Millwright to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on production and mechanical equipment and the facility. The role is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Employees must be able to work any shift during training; the shift will be consistent afterward. The work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds. The position may require maintenance coverage beyond normal working hours or shifts, including weekends and holidays. Employees must tolerate high and low temperatures and the loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Requirements
- One or more years of previous experience.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to work any shift during training and flexibility with assignments and shifts.
- Ability to work on elevated platforms.
- Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair common industrial equipment, including grinders, forklifts, cranes, welders, and lathes.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, such as oil changes, greasing, adjustments, and minor repairs.
- Perform routine electrical repairs and some troubleshooting of motor controls.
- Perform basic repairs to plumbing and heating systems.
- Fabricate hardware needed to support maintenance operations.
- Observe company rules and regulations.
- Work on elevated platforms.
- Remain flexible with assignments and shifts.
- Report abnormal conditions to a lead person or supervisor.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
- Observe safety practices and follow safety rules and procedures, including using required safety glasses, safety boots, and hearing protection.
- Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
