About The Position

STS Group, a globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the opening of a brand-new facility near Salem, Virginia. The Maintenance Technician will participate in activities related to the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing to achieve production, inventory, and operating expense objectives. This role involves inspecting and repairing machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, engineering principles, and safety regulations. The position is for the 2nd Shift, with hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Requirements

Experience as a Maintenance Technician
Ability to read and comprehend Electrical schematics
Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
Willingness to work necessary overtime and have shift flexibility

Responsibilities

Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action to maintain maximum production and quality.
Reads and comprehends Electrical schematics.
Tests newly installed or refurbished equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety.
Immediately responds to maintenance issues when production has stopped due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic problems.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime.
Maintains and monitors inventory of maintenance equipment and parts.
Orders new parts as necessary.
Installs and maintains program modifications for all machines.
Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager for the installation and removal of equipment.
Completes purchase order requisitions for all purchased goods, equipment, or services.
Works necessary overtime and has shift flexibility.
