About The Position

This role performs mid to expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance on devices, observing them in operation to locate the root cause of problems, dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing and/or replacing defective parts, testing devices to observe performance, and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems. The technician will also recondition and repair machine tools, identify and source necessary parts, supplies, and repair items, and independently perform maintenance according to industry standards. They may be required to set up and operate multiple machining operations including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts, and may perform welding tasks. The role involves complying with 5S and housekeeping standards, driving and participating in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities for processes, results, and cost savings, updating records, and reviewing CMMS history. Additionally, the technician will troubleshoot and analyze control systems to resolve software/hardware and configuration problems, utilize predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, provide assistance to lower-level technicians and leadership to small teams, perform more advanced functions as part of training and development, and complete on-the-job and technical self-study programs for career development. Following all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines, and maintaining situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions are crucial.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5 years of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program.
  • Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems.
  • Can analyze problems and perform repairs.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

Responsibilities
