About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician III for their 3rd shift operations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing automated, manual, and CNC equipment in a multifaceted manufacturing environment. The technician will utilize equipment manuals and vendor support to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. This position also supports the production TPM initiative through development and training, and requires proficiency in using various measuring devices and CMMS software.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
  • Complete understanding of electrical controls, power distribution, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electric motors (AC/DC), heating circuits, PID logic, and 3-phase power.
  • Prior experience working with motion control systems, including servo drives, motors, and encoders.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S concepts and practices.
  • Experience working with a CMMS (SAP is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers.
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • PLC experience desired.
  • Technical school preferred.
  • LOTO and Arc Flash training.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated, manual, and CNC equipment using equipment manuals and vendor support.
  • Understand and work with PLCs, control systems, relays, input/output modules, circuit breakers, VFDs, inverters, transformers, switches, safety circuits, thermal overloads, AC/DC motors, and power distribution.
  • Logically report equipment failures and analyze data to increase performance and reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Understand the theory and operation of automated systems, including homing routines, I/O status, servo systems, and control architecture.
  • Utilize CMMS (SAP Maintenance Module) for reporting, preventative maintenance tasks, and workflow scheduling.
  • Comply with company safety standards, including PPE, LOTO, and Arc Flash.
  • Support production TPM initiative through development and training.
  • Proficiently utilize measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, and multimeters.
  • Perform planned maintenance on equipment according to frequency and task lists.
  • Provide root cause countermeasures (RCCM) on systemic equipment issues.
  • Identify replacement components through nameplates, manufacturer’s product sheets, or OEM equipment manuals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
