About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Technician B maintains and repairs company equipment, buildings, and grounds to minimize interruptions to operations and ensure employee safety. The position develops preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reliability and promote safe operations. It uses the Circular Services Preventive Maintenance System and follows facility standard operating procedures, equipment maintenance manuals, company policies, and training. The technician handles routine and non-routine repairs, including issues requiring sound judgment without direct supervision, and implements safety practices for employees, vendors, contractors, and visitors. The role also supports supply and equipment procurement, vendor management, work-order prioritization, contractor work, equipment testing, warehouse inspections, and cross-training. The position is full-time, based in Frisco, Texas, with a Monday–Friday day shift; weekends and holidays may be required, and a Tuesday–Saturday schedule is possible.

Requirements

Ability to follow equipment operating and record-keeping instructions.
Ability to complete assignments accurately, on time, and safely.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret engineering piping and instrument drawings, electrical diagrams and schematics, and electrical logic diagrams.
Carpentry, framing, and general construction skills.
Skills in maintaining maintenance facilities, equipment, and tools.
Ability to troubleshoot, identify problems and causes, and perform repairs as needed.
Working knowledge and experience with multiple hand tools and power tools.
Ability to operate or drive a powered pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, and truck.
Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting objects over 80 pounds and working from ladders or raised platforms.

Nice To Haves

Conveyor, maintenance, industrial-facility, or warehouse experience.
Having personal tools.
Bilingual ability in English and Spanish.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, including AC and DC current.
Welding certification or welding experience.
Knowledge of Computer Assisted Drawing/Auto-CAD training.

Responsibilities

Initiate requisitions for maintenance and repair supplies in quantities sufficient to meet production and building-maintenance needs.
Perform building and equipment repairs throughout the facility according to submitted work orders.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs that extend equipment and building life and reliability and promote safe operations.
Use the Circular Services Preventive Maintenance System to manage periodic maintenance of facility buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Inspect, repair, maintain, and service plant machinery and equipment in accordance with facility procedures, maintenance manuals, company policies, and training.
Handle non-routine repairs and issues, applying sound and immediate judgment when direct supervision is unavailable.
Implement company safety policies and practices and ensure they are followed by staff, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
Complete mandatory safety and operational training assigned by the supervisor.
Help procure plant supplies and replacement equipment by identifying needs in advance, managing vendors, following company guidelines, and taking responsibility for the annual budget.
Screen and select building-maintenance materials and supplies.
Research equipment and supply pricing to identify superior prices.
Prioritize work orders systematically and efficiently.
Assist with work orders for outside contractors.
Conduct routine equipment testing and warehouse inspections.
Cross-train in other business areas and assist as needed.
