About The Position

This role involves working with little to no supervision to maintain and repair machinery in a metal manufacturing environment. The technician will be responsible for cleaning and lubricating machinery, troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment, installing and maintaining pipe systems, repairing electrical issues, and performing general building maintenance. A key part of the role includes utilizing the CMMS system for logging labor and parts, and adhering to quality, PPE, and safety policies. The position requires a willingness to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts, and participation in an on-call program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic in a metal manufacturing environment
• Ability to troubleshoot (preferred but not required)
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing
• PLC experience (preferred)
• Experience with and ability to use all types of welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools (preferred)
• Experience in high-speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Troubleshoot/repair machinery such as slitters, collectors, high-speed welders, conveyors, and palletizers
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
• Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep
• Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise
• Familiarize yourself with our CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectations
• Participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off shift due to on-call program
• Understand quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures
