About The Position

The primary duties of this role involve monitoring and executing preventative maintenance programs to ensure facilities and equipment are proactively cared for and maintained. The technician will troubleshoot and perform comprehensive repairs on thermal spray equipment, vacuum furnaces, and related electrical-mechanical systems. This includes tasks such as leak testing, pump and motor repairs, heating element and thermocouple replacements, and resolving other electrical-mechanical issues. The role also requires evaluating maintenance requests, maintaining the operating condition of buildings and equipment, operating common tools, and adhering to all safety rules, including proper PPE usage, lock-out/tag-out, and tie-off procedures. A digital maintenance management system will be used for tracking work and logging information, and documentation for environmental and regulatory requirements must be maintained. The position also requires the ability to report to work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with colleagues, and understand and follow rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to read equipment schematics.
  • Must be able to work in industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Nice To Haves

  • College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Working knowledge and operation of Fanuc robots is a plus.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting high voltage 480 VAC and controls circuits.
  • Strongly prefer candidates who have a working knowledge of thermal spray technology and general industrial technologies to include electronics, robotics, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with digital maintenance management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor preventative maintenance programs to ensure facilities and equipment are cared for on a proactive basis.
  • Complete all preventative maintenance tasks on a timely basis.
  • Troubleshoot and complete comprehensive repairs to thermal spray equipment through knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, and related skills.
  • Troubleshoot and repair vacuum furnaces, leak testing, pump and motor repairs, heating elements, thermocouple replacements, and resolve other electrical-mechanical issues.
  • Evaluate maintenance requests to understand problems and determine the best resolution.
  • Maintain operating condition of buildings and equipment.
  • Operate common hand or power tools.
  • Observe all safety rules in the production areas, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), following lock out/tag out procedures, and following proper tie-off procedures.
  • Use digital maintenance management system to track work and log information related to completed tasks.
  • Maintain documentation and reports related to environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
