About The Position

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment as well as the general upkeep of the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics, along with good analytical and communication skills. The technician must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, adhere to safety procedures, and be willing to work off-shifts and weekends during emergencies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with chemicals.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to work in a confined space.
  • Ability to follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Willingness to certify on forklift.
  • Must actively participate in discussions of equipment, repair, and process improvements.
  • Must work in a safe and professional manner at all times.
  • Entry level of mechanical understanding.
  • Proficient with battery tools.
  • Electrical knowledge.
  • Electric welding.
  • PLC (Program Logic Controller) circuit knowledge.
  • Efficiently read electrical blueprints.

  • Technical training or previous experience in maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment and verify repair effectiveness.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely.
  • Document all necessary preventative maintenance.
  • Work with contractors on equipment repairs.
  • Complete all documentation as scheduled and assigned.
  • Assist in tracking major/key parts for repairs.
  • Maintain maintenance areas of the facility (5S).
  • Gather maintenance items from the receiving area.
  • Identify proper tools for tasks.
  • Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform electrical preventative maintenance.
  • Perform gas welding.
  • Find root causes of issues and repair them.
  • Improve equipment efficiency.
  • Mentor and lead team members.
  • Effectively communicate with management.
