About The Position

Precoat Metals is seeking an experienced Multi Craft Maintenance Technician to join their team in Granite City. This role is responsible for ensuring plant equipment and facilities are maintained in good electrical and mechanical repair to support continuous production. The position offers opportunities for career advancement and skill development within the Maintenance department.

Requirements

Minimum of a HS diploma.
2+ years of experience repairing and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, over-head cranes, forklifts, hoists, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives and controls, and heavy industrial wiring.
Strong industrial electrical experience.
Ability to learn process, equipment specifications, and company standards by consulting resources, associates, manuals, training, and policies.
Good practical sense for working with and troubleshooting equipment problems.
Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment.
Computer literate, familiar with the Windows operating system.

Responsibilities

Organize and facilitate maintenance on all production and facility equipment, focusing on equipment uptime and resolving quality and production issues through continuous improvement.
Perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
Troubleshoot programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Utilize electrical test equipment for repair and troubleshooting.
Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
Install, modify, and fabricate equipment and systems to meet production needs.
Communicate maintenance situations clearly between shifts, including to the Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Manager.
Contribute to plant-wide operational accountabilities, including progress towards quality and production goals.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and housekeeping.
