About The Position

Pregis is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for their Bethel, PA location. This role is responsible for ensuring the proper function of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing both planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, and processing equipment, as well as utility systems. The technician will troubleshoot Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and AC/DC drive systems, be on call for emergency repairs, and interpret technical procedures, schematics, and manuals. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, ensuring the proper function of manufacturing support systems, documenting work orders in CMMS, maintaining communication with other departments, completing paperwork accurately, assisting with inventory management, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with sanitation schedules, safety standards, and OSHA regulations. The role also involves identifying Critical Control Points (CCP) and performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ year(s) experience working as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics repair and troubleshooting
  • Experience with maintenance work order systems
  • Must be able to understand mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties
  • Ability to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Technical School Degree in Mechanics, Electrical, Computer Science, preferred
  • Knowledge of welding and machining skills desired, not required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Perform the proper function of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging and processing equipment, and utility systems.
  • Successfully perform troubleshooting on Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and AC/DC drive systems.
  • On call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary.
  • Accurately read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (i.e., conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading SPC charts and data) as needed.
  • Ensure proper function of the line manufacturing support systems (line/lube delivery, resin delivery, process systems, operational support.)
  • Accurately complete and document work orders promptly in CMMS to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees; notifying them of problems and/or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
  • Complete all paperwork in a clear, legible, and accurate format, including all required information and documentation following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by checking parts out of inventory and assigning them to the proper work order, report low supply levels to Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including maintenance shop.
  • Adhere to Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
  • Identify Critical Control Points (CCP).
  • Abide by all safety standards and protocols set forth by OSHA and Pregis.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
