Industrial Maintenance Supervisor (51875)
About The Position
BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our expanding Maintenance Department. The job duties of this position include, but are not limited to, aluminum hydraulic extrusions, maintaining 5 extrusion presses, preventative maintenance process and scheduling, scheduled downtime repair prep planning. The Maintenance Supervisor will work a shift and supervise a group of maintenance technicians to ensure production and quality by keeping our machinery and equipment in working condition. BRT is a growing aluminum extrusions company, and as we grow, our employees will grow as well.
Requirements
- At least 1 year manufacturing/maintenance supervisory experience is required
- 2 years’ experience in maintenance manufacturing setting
- Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts with varying schedule (example: 2 days on and 2 off etc)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills is a must
- Be able to Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers
- Analyze and resolve work problems and assists workers in solving problems
- Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.
Nice To Haves
- Training and experience in use of PLC's is a plus
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
- Read and interpret electrical drawings is a plus
- Maintenance training & education preferred
Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities of the technicians on the shift
- Specifically train with the new technicians to ensure skill evaluation and continued improvement.
- Make repairs as needed, showing others how to as well and train them to work autonomously
- Train less experienced techs in the following areas: Aluminum hydraulic extrusions, maintaining/running presses, preventative maintenance process and scheduling, scheduled downtime repair preparations and planning, ensuring knowledge of all machines by all techs
- Recommend modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or to improve safety, quality, or equipment operating parameters
- Perform repairs and troubleshoot on machinery and repair of electrical systems up to 480v, 3 phase
- Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce OSHA and company safety regulations with employees
- Conduct safety training for crew on shift as needed and ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and regulations
