About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician II performs maintenance tasks, particularly proactive maintenance, to support high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of Sonoco products. The role supports production, utility, and facility equipment and works closely with other maintenance personnel and departments to prevent and resolve equipment problems. The position reports to the Plant Engineer. It is primarily a third-shift role, with first-shift training until the employee is ready to move to third shift. The employee must be willing to work off shifts, rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, and off shifts as needed.
• Ability to use mechanical lifts and ladders, kneel, bend, and twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, and motor controls.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment as required by production.
• Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
• Assist and train other maintenance personnel with repairs, preventive maintenance, and rebuilds.
• Collaborate with other departments and teams to proactively resolve problems.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
• Perform duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
