This role is responsible for carrying out repairs according to work orders, documenting repair information, assisting in work preparation, and troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. The position involves tasks such as bearing replacement, welding, cutting, rigging, kiln roll adjustments, hydraulics, plumbing and fitting, lubrication, fabrication, pneumatics, and measurements. The mechanic must understand technical specifications related to equipment installation and operation, inspect and prepare mobile equipment, and inform the foreman of any deviations or maintenance issues. A key aspect of the role is completing shift inspections and managing parts and materials from the stockroom. The individual is responsible for the quality of their work, the safe operation of tools and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with all relevant regulations.
