About The Position

Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for all plant equipment. This includes machinery maintenance, lubrication, PM’s, trouble shooting, repairing, upgrading, welding, fabricating, and possible installations. Responsible for lubrication/ preventative maintenance on equipment, such as corrugator, diecut/flexo folder, conveyors, stackers, banders etc. Be able to read and understand mechanical prints, AC/DC motors, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams. Troubleshoot, repair and install mechanical components, AC/DC motors, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, bearings, and power transmission. Perform fabrication of equipment (welding both arc and gas) to desired needs. Make adjustments on equipment to improve productivity. Identify and locate unusual sounds that indicate potential trouble. Dismantle equipment to gain access to replace defective parts. Predictive maintenance data collection and PM planning. Minimum requirements are to pass the Maintenance AON test and an interview. Requires the ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work additional and flexible hours including weekends as needed. Must be willing and able to work all shifts depending on company business needs. Must have your own set of tools. THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.

  • Working knowledge of various types of measurement equipment (dial calipers, heat sensing guns, etc.).
  • Ability to examine and determine to what degree parts have worn, and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Ability to use hand tools to remove/replace and repair parts.
  • Safe operation of all types of hand tools (i.e. drill press, grinder, wire brush, acetylene torch, etc.) normally found in a Maintenance shop.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions.
  • Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem solving skills.
  • Dedication, self-motivation, and self-starter, able to work independently.
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a commitment to working safely.
  • Computer skills to work in SAP.
  • Pass standardized International Paper pre-employment testing in place for Maintenance positions.
