Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - $1,250 Sign-On Bonus!
About The Position
ContiTech is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the mechanical upkeep of equipment within their facilities and campus. This role involves a variety of daily tasks using hand, power, and other tools for repair, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of equipment and facilities. For the Maintenance Tech level, this upkeep is in conjunction with on-the-job learning. Upon completion of 8000 work hours or 10 years of documented work experience in the skilled trades, a maintenance tech must apply for a Journeyman’s card. For the Master Mechanic level, the successful candidate must possess a Journeyman’s card and have completed an additional approved specialized course to further their job knowledge in the maintenance field.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 3 years technical background or experience (for Maintenance Tech)
- 10 years of technical background or experience (for Maintenance Mechanic)
- Journeyworker's card (for Master Mechanic)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use standard Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to submit to a panel interview process
- Follow safety rules and procedures
- Must stay current on applicable compliance and skills trainings
- Decisions must be made with only broad guidelines to follow
- Will be required to assign, coordinate and answer questions for customers. (internal/external)
- Make some decisions on the quality of our parts based upon test results
- Work with engineers and manufacturing management on current production jobs and requirements on new jobs
- Must wear steel-toe shoes, safety glasses and earplugs when in manufacturing area
- Ability to work in a noisy environment and be exposed to low levels of carbon black dust, which may be dirty
- Be aware of all safety regulations and the visibility of forklifts on the work floor
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis
- Must maintain a minimum score of 80% on the maintenance department skills matrix (for Master Mechanic)

- Additional approved specialized course to further job knowledge in the maintenance field (for Master Mechanic)
Responsibilities
- Complete required training
- Maintain equipment and facilities using standard processes
- Complete repairs and PMs timely and accurately
- Progress toward gaining a standard skillset (including but not limited to skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, PLCs, robotics, and blueprint interpretation, along with troubleshooting / problem-solving skills)
- Change shifts or work overtime
- On occasion, perform duties other than those specified in this description
- Complete a mold change (for Mechanic/Master levels)
Benefits
- $1,250 sign-on bonus
- Additional $1,250 after successfully completing 1 year
- Competitive wages - from $33.77 - 42.06 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
- Shift differential - earn an additional $2.00 per hour for 2nd shift and $1.00 per hour for 3rd shift
