About The Position

Dart's Scarborough manufacturing facility is adding a Maintenance Mechanic to help ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. If you’re a licensed Industrial Millwright who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment, this could be the role for you. The starting rate is $36.01/hour (fixed & non-negotiable) for this full-time position. The role follows an 8-hour / COP Schedule and requires availability for all shifts, which are assigned based on union seniority and existing preferences. Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright License
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine tools
  • Ability to pass a technical/mechanical aptitude test
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (lifting, climbing, standing, temperature variation)

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding complex machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment using blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues through visual, auditory, and operational inspections.
  • Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery components.
  • Maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and supporting production changeovers.
  • Using ERP systems to maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Collaborating closely with Maintenance, Production, and Plant leadership.
  • Following all safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards.
