About The Position
Dart Container Corporation, a leader in foodservice packaging solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Scarborough manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring that production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. The ideal candidate is a licensed Industrial Millwright who thrives on solving complex mechanical challenges in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright License
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine tools
- Ability to pass a technical/mechanical aptitude test
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (lifting, climbing, standing, temperature variation)
Nice To Haves
- 2–3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding complex machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment using blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues through visual, auditory, and operational inspections.
- Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery components.
- Maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
- Performing preventive maintenance and supporting production changeovers.
- Using ERP systems to maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Collaborating closely with Maintenance, Production, and Plant leadership.
- Following all safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards.
Benefits
- Starting Rate: $38.26/hour (fixed & non-negotiable)
