About The Position

The Mosaic Company is seeking Maintenance Mechanics to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on plant or mine equipment and machinery. This role requires the ability to use various tools and equipment to make repairs or replace components. Mechanics will adhere to all safety procedures, participate in safety meetings, and contribute to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by inputting work requests and feedback. The position is available at multiple locations in Florida, including Mulberry, Riverview, Bradley, and Bartow.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Associates Degree (Vocational, Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist or Welding) training program preferred
  • Job Resume is a must
  • 4 years of related industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited Apprenticeship program required
  • Phosphate industry experience preferred
  • May be required to obtain a commercial driver's license
  • Basic computer skills needed
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work alone or in a partner or team setting
  • Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures
  • Capable of data entry
  • Must be able to train and be able to operate mobile equipment including boom truck, aerial man lift and forklift
  • Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity and safety working at heights
  • Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles
  • Successful completion of pre-hire exams and ongoing training, which may include written tests and hands-on mechanical assessments.
  • Responsible for the safe and compliant storage/inspection/usage of tools and equipment as assigned
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • May be required to obtain a commercial driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair plant or mine equipment and machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment and machinery.
  • Use hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic and/or electric tools, and precision measuring tools for repairs.
  • Repair or replace components such as pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, conveyors, large rotating equipment, draglines, and dredges.
  • Perform and follow all safety procedures including PPE, Pre Job Hazard Analysis, LOTO, Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space, Water Safety, Line Breaking, Safe Work, Daily PM Inspection, Work Order Feedback, and General Equipment/Line Isolation Permits.
  • Actively participate in Pre Job Safety Meetings and Weekly Safety Meetings.
  • Actively participate in WorkFlow by giving feedback on work execution.
  • Input work requests into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Repair machinery and equipment in accordance with established job plans.
  • Repair machinery and equipment on an emergency or “break-in” basis.
  • Lubricate equipment and machinery.
  • Use hand signals with crane operators.
  • Rig for lifts.
  • Examine disassembled parts and diagnose root cause failure.
  • Operate overhead cranes.
  • Train and become certified to operate boom trucks, large forklifts, and aerial man lifts.
  • Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect fellow workers.
  • Report any issues that can impact the environment or employee safety.
