Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Performs complex mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and system repairs with limited supervision. This position supports safe and efficient plant operations by maintaining critical process and utility equipment and serving as a process owner for assigned systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 8-10+ years of experience or associate degree plus 6-8+ years of experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of alignment tools, torque wrenches, vibration analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Solid understanding of pumps, valves, piping, gearboxes, and process systems.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of lubrication systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with precision maintenance, reliability-based maintenance (RBM), or predictive maintenance (PdM).
  • Welding certification or pipefitting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild of pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and compressors.
  • Inspect, align, and balance rotating equipment using precision tools and methods.
  • Install and maintain mechanical seals, couplings, and bearings.
  • Fabricate and install process piping and supports per engineering specifications.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for assigned systems.
  • Review equipment history and provide recommendations for reliability improvement.
  • Support maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital project activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and EHS to ensure safe, compliant repairs.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic 1 employees.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate and complete.
