About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will provide leadership to the Maintenance Department, ensuring all equipment is in peak operating condition and participating as an active member of the Production Managerial Team. This role is responsible and accountable for the proper and safe functioning of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment used in metal fabrication, including furnaces, casters, rolling mills, extrusion, blanking, and coining presses.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with computers and software products.
  • Ability to prioritize, direct, and assign projects to meet organizational demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced mechanical and hydraulic aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of induction furnaces.
  • Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9000 experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • PLC programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize machine productivity and uptime through the development of proactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance processes.
  • Troubleshoot and correct mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment problems.
  • Hold staff accountable and ensure assignments are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Use continuous coaching, mentoring, and leadership to develop and train maintenance staff on new or updated maintenance techniques and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain the Maintenance Management System to optimize maintenance inventory levels, parts purchasing, daily reports on PM scheduling, and work-ticket tracking.
  • Develop and/or verify adherence to all applicable Federal, State, or Local laws and regulations, including OSHA and environmental permitting.
  • Develop and communicate clear staff expectations and hold employees accountable for maintaining a cooperative/team-based relationship with production operations.
  • Travel between manufacturing plants in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Las Vegas, Nevada, as required (25%).
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
