About The Position

The Maintenance HVAC Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s facility, buildings, and equipment. Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems is the primary focus of this position along with clear documentation of condition and repair of work performed. Their duties include but are not limited to preventative maintenance programs, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and mechanics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a HVAC Service Technician or similar role. (must possess or have ability to obtain refrigeration license).
  • 2+ plus years of experience as Industrial Maintenance Technician.
  • Ability to use and be trained/certified in forklift and scissor lift
  • Highly skilled in using various hand and power tools (i.e. manifold gauge sets, multi-meters, amp-probes, temp gauges, manometers, etc.).
  • Capability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Versed in electrical, refrigeration, gas, plumbing, schematic reading.
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Communication skills which include, but are not limited to, written and oral communication, active listening, nonverbal communication.
  • Teamwork through development of skills to collaborate with others to achieve departmental goals.
  • Dependability, responsibility, and consistency in job performance.
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility with work schedule, including some holidays and alternate shifts are required; ability to work additional hours, beyond standard schedule, in any given week as needed. Overtime may be needed for this role to meet deadlines.
  • Availability for periodic on-call work is required

Nice To Haves

  • Compressor replacement a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Work in a variety of different disciplines – electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, plumbing and mechanics
  • Conduct routine inspections of premise and equipment to ensure desired results while controlling costs
  • Perform preventive maintenance as necessary
  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance
  • Respond to work order tickets in a prompt manner; close out tickets as completed
  • Work with co-workers in a professional manner; build credibility and trust
  • Diagnose issues and report to supervision on method to correct them
  • Maintain and support the company’s recycling and trash program
  • Perform tasks to company standards to efficiently and effectively meet department goals
  • Take initiative to improve ways work is completed and find solutions to improve productivity
  • Communicate with management
  • Manage priorities as they change throughout the shift
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required
  • Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company
