About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician will maintain, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair electrical equipment including blow molding, injection molding, and slide-glass production operations. This position is responsible for ensuring electrical system reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting operational efficiency in a high-precision manufacturing environment for medical devices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience (mechanical or electrical) OR 2+ years combined experience with relevant technical training/certifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician (Less than 5 years may be considered with supporting education and/or certifications)
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders and preventive maintenance scheduling

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial, mechanical, or electrical maintenance
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician certification
  • Millwright or other industrial trade certification
  • PLC programming experience is highly desired but not required
  • Experience with weighing systems (load cells, strain gauges) and quality inspection systems such as Keyence and Cognex (highly desired)
  • Licensed Industrial or Journeyman Electrician
  • PLC / Automation Certification (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Certification
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize electrical, automation, and control systems for production and facility equipment to ensure maximum reliability and uptime.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical components, systems, and machinery, including blow molding, injection molding, and glass production equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and test industrial electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, panels, MCCs, and PLC cabinets, in accordance with NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems including motors, drives (VFDs, servos), relays, contactors, and control circuits up to 480V.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and maintenance teams to troubleshoot integrated electro-mechanical issues across production systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of AC and DC motor controls, starters, contactors, overloads, start/stop/jog circuits, and motor wiring methods.
  • Familiarity with single-phase (120/240V) and three-phase (480V) power systems, fuses, transformers, control transformers, and 24V DC control voltage systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams, one-line diagrams, ladder logic, and PLC block programming.
  • Perform PLC troubleshooting on Siemens and Allen-Bradley systems.
  • Work with and maintain various sensors such as photo-eyes, proximity switches, zero-speed switches, and position sensors.
  • Assist in commissioning, startup, and qualification of new machinery and system upgrades (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Perform predictive and reliability-based maintenance, including infrared scanning (IR), motor testing, and vibration analysis (VA).
  • Support facility electrical systems including lighting, HVAC controls, compressors, and power distribution.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in reliability improvement initiatives, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement (CI) activities.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS documentation for all electrical maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Operate forklifts, aerial boom lifts (JLG/Genie), and scissor lifts as needed.
  • Train and mentor maintenance personnel on electrical troubleshooting and safe work practices.
  • Perform all other duties as required to support plant operations and business needs.
