About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship is a hands-on development program in a fast-paced bakery environment. Apprentices shadow experienced technicians and learn to help maintain equipment efficiently while prioritizing safety and quality. They rotate assignments across different bakery areas and are expected to pursue ongoing training as technology and performance standards evolve. The role requires climbing fixed and portable ladders up to 20 feet; stooping and bending while lifting up to 50 pounds; and climbing onto and crawling under machinery as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be enrolled in a technical/trade or college program in industrial maintenance or a related field.
Ability to climb fixed and portable ladders up to 20 feet, stoop and bend while lifting up to 50 pounds, and climb onto and crawl under machinery as required.
Flexibility to rotate assignments across different bakery areas.
Aptitude and drive to pursue ongoing training as technology and performance standards evolve.

Responsibilities

Practice safe work habits, select and use tools properly, and follow general shop practices.
Assist with preventive maintenance and scheduled maintenance tasks.
Respond with the team to equipment stoppages and mechanical breakdowns.
Help identify mechanical wear and troubleshoot and replace mechanical drive and conveyor components.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Comply with company policies and procedures, including those concerning equal employment opportunity, harassment, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
Perform other duties considered integral to the job, including fulfilling work schedules and following attendance and other operating rules and procedures.
Possess or obtain licenses required by applicable municipal, county/ward, or state regulatory agencies for work with boilers, refrigeration components, and other job-related equipment.
