About The Position

We are seeking an Industrial Insulation & Fabrication Technician to join our federal team at our York, PA location. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and organized 6S environment. Responsible for participating in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events. Understanding the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation. Knowledge and proficiency in print reading. Responsible for operating overhead/jib cranes and rigging of products. Responsible for reviewing and signing timecards weekly. Accountable for adhering to and promoting compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Requirements

  • Knowledge and proficiency in print reading.
  • Attention to detail, follow detailed instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret a measuring tape accurately to measure and cut out materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-years of experience in mechanical insulation or building trades.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized 6S environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events.
  • Understand the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation.
  • Operate overhead/jib cranes and rigging of products.
  • Review and sign timecards weekly.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Work from complex mechanical, piping, and isometric drawings.
  • Produce products from prints, standard work, and routers.
  • Work from engineering standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams.
  • Document Quality-Controlled Inspections (QCI).
  • Perform mathematical fabrication to accurately obtain values.
  • Perform precision work for high-quality repeatability.
  • Measure, cut & fit insulation to round, flat surfaces, including bevel, miter, and fish mouth cuts.
  • Layout and cut insulation for minimum waste.
  • Install insulation using pin welder or banding; some situations require glue and lagging.
  • Caulk seams.
  • Attach insulation per requirements using glue adhesive.
  • Attach insulation to fit round and flat surfaces.
  • Apply lagging cloth utilizing Vimasco adhesive or 520 adhesive as required.
  • Apply fire retardant paint to lagging cloth per print requirements.
  • Apply dampening tiles with two-part epoxy as required.
  • Cut and apply tubular insulation as required.
  • Apply lagging cloth per print requirements.
  • Apply lagging cloth utilizing Vimasco adhesive or 520 adhesive as required.
  • Apply fire retardant paint to lagging cloth per print requirements.
