About The Position

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking an Industrial Instrumentation Adjunct Instructor to teach up to 12 credit hours per semester in the fall and spring, and up to six credit hours in the summer. The instructor will deliver engaging and industry-relevant classroom and lab instruction in Industrial Instrumentation and related fields, developing and implementing curriculum to meet current industry standards and workforce needs. Courses may include Instrumentation Fundamentals, Control Systems, PLCs, Industrial Electronics, Calibration Techniques, and Process Control. The role involves integrating safety practices, hands-on training, and modern instructional technologies, while planning and developing effective teaching methods and materials for diverse learners.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Industrial Instrumentation Technology or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent industry experience in instrumentation, process control, automation, or industrial systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial sensors, transmitters, control loops, PLCs, HMIs, and calibration equipment, including HART® communicators.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Service-oriented, promote excellence, and embrace a commitment to professionalism.
  • Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and industry-relevant classroom and lab instruction in Industrial Instrumentation and related fields.
  • Develop, revise, and implement curriculum to meet current industry standards and workforce needs.
  • Teach courses including (but not limited to): Instrumentation Fundamentals, Control Systems, PLCs, Industrial Electronics, Calibration Techniques, and Process Control.
  • Integrate safety practices, hands-on training, and modern instructional technologies into instruction.
  • Plan, develop, and use effective teaching methods and materials which assist students in meeting course objectives, are appropriate for students with diverse educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles, and engage the students in learning.
