About The Position

The BOBPM Industrial Hygienist position is a Ford Motor Company Full-time Salary position and will report to the EHS Manager and work alongside a highly effective EHS team comprised of Ford Safety Engineers, Ford Environmental Engineers, and a Ford Fire Protection Engineer. The Industrial Hygienist will have overall responsibility for developing, implementing and monitoring of the IH Program for both Cell and Pack plants. In addition to IH duties, this position will support site wide Toxicology and Process Safety Management. This role will be working with members of the EHS team and site leadership to recommend appropriate hazard controls as necessary. The role will be working with other teams members inside Ford Motor Company, contractors and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Language Proficient in English
  • Understanding of industrial hygiene related risks, exposure monitoring techniques and hazard control methods relating to chemicals, noise, lasers, radiation, confined space, drinking water, respirator protection, heat stress, and knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop the BOBM Industrial Hygiene Programs to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and Ford Motor Company Health and Safety Standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive industrial hygiene risk and exposure assessments plan.
  • Manage projects performed by consultants to evaluate potential risks, including development of sampling plans, acceptance of proposals, scheduling of work, and oversight of project budgets
  • Partner with a 3rd party consultant to develop, implement and monitor the local Process Safety Management Program.
  • Interpret results of evaluations, report conclusions, and evaluate effectiveness of control measures from employee exposure assessments.
  • Interface with Ford Motor Company Corporate Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology teams
  • Develop, implement and monitor the local Toxicology process.
