About The Position

J.S. Held is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join our growing Industrial Hygiene & Built Environment practice in Denver, Colorado. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced consultant to work on a diverse portfolio of projects involving occupational health, indoor environmental quality, hazardous materials, environmental investigations, and property damage assessments. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical consulting services to clients across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, construction, government, insurance, and real estate sectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of consulting or industry experience in industrial hygiene, environmental health, or occupational safety.
  • AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner, or Project Designer credentials.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, ACGIH, and relevant state and local regulations.
  • Experience conducting field investigations, sampling, and exposure assessments.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout Colorado and surrounding states as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and exposure evaluations for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Perform air monitoring, noise monitoring, indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations, moisture mapping, and environmental sampling.
  • Conduct asbestos, lead, mould, and hazardous materials surveys and assessments.
  • Evaluate occupational exposures and develop practical recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Support investigations involving fire, smoke, water, and environmental contamination events.
  • Manage projects from proposal development through final report delivery.
  • Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and technical proposals.
  • Coordinate field activities, subcontractors, laboratory analysis, and project schedules.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to J.S. Held quality standards.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and defensible technical reports.
  • Interpret sampling results and communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and regulatory records.
  • Participate in internal QA/QC reviews and technical peer reviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and support business development initiatives.
  • Participate in networking events, industry associations, and professional organisations.
  • Assist with proposal preparation and client presentations.
