Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Science or comparable discipline.
  • MI Asbestos Inspector Certification required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in conducting Hazardous Materials Surveys including comprehensive asbestos evaluation for building rehabilitation and demolition projects.
  • Knowledge of air monitoring and on-site microscopic analysis during asbestos abatement projects.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated collaborative approach to problem-solving, and have ability to interact with clients to understand their needs.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, and ability to work on projects for multiple project managers within budgets and timelines.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites as well as NTH offices in Michigan.
  • May be required to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Authorized to work full-time in the U.S.A.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired are required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • NIOSH 582 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise regarding hazardous materials survey, and abatement/demolition oversight services.
  • Independently complete project deliverables.
  • Perform task management responsibilities within deadlines.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical proposals.
  • Effectively manage workload to exceed client expectations and meet project requirements.
  • Partner with NTH Project Managers to manage tasks.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Serve as a Task Manager under the direct supervision of a Project Manager.
  • Train and mentorship junior staff.
