About The Position

E-Logic Inc. is seeking two experienced Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialists to provide mid-level technical support for managing a broad range of industrial hygiene, safety, and ergonomics issues at domestic Department facilities under the DOS EHS Services contract. This role is responsible for conducting ergonomic evaluations, supporting the Department's reasonable accommodation and ADA programs, and performing various industrial hygiene assessments. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience providing EHS support for a large federal agency and performing ergonomic evaluations. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing EHS support for a large, multi-worksite federal agency with a blended workforce of contractors and direct hires.
  • Must have demonstrated experience providing ergonomic evaluations and supporting reasonable accommodations and ADA programs.
  • Experience in a broad range of industrial hygiene and safety disciplines (e.g., indoor air quality, noise, ventilation, asbestos, water sampling).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting ergonomic assessments and using related equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; ability to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with EHS-related software (e.g., Maximo) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hundreds of ergonomic evaluations annually; manage ergonomic demonstration equipment.
  • Provide individual and group ergonomic training; recommend ergonomic equipment purchases; prepare ergonomic evaluation reports.
  • Provide recommendations for the design of new facilities.
  • Work with Human Resources and Medical personnel to evaluate a wide range of reasonable accommodation requests.
  • Coordinate certification of biological safety cabinets; conduct indoor air quality surveys and mold assessments.
  • Perform ventilation surveys; review contractor safety plans using Maximo software.
  • Respond to water intrusion events; conduct assessments of noise, lighting, and thermal comfort parameters.
  • Collect asbestos bulk samples and conduct other industrial hygiene sampling as needed.
  • Provide material handling training, including back safety, lifting techniques, and pallet jack training.
  • Use field testing equipment, such as radiation survey meters, PCR, and infrared spectroscopy, to assess threats posed by mail or unknown powder incidents.
  • Perform drinking water sampling for Legionella and other contaminants in DOS owned or delegated facilities.
  • Conduct hazard assessments, training, and outreach support to DOS sites inside and outside the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, and memoranda; provide on-call support for after-hours emergencies.
