About The Position

ExxonMobil's Medicine and Occupational Health (MOH) Department is currently seeking candidates to fill the role of Industrial Hygiene Technician. The Industrial Hygiene Technician works under the direction of an ExxonMobil Industrial Hygienist and is responsible for carrying out a variety of activities such as routine and emergency air monitoring, noise surveys, ventilation surveys, basic report writing, sample data entry and field verifications on a variety of program elements as directed by the Industrial Hygienist. The successful candidate should have an intermediate understanding, either through education or experience, of general industrial hygiene practices such as monitoring methods, sample handling, data analysis, and use/calibration of monitoring equipment. The candidate will provide direct field support to operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for the job.

Requirements

  • Experience with gas testing equipment (including performing general gas testing and monitoring) and other industrial hygiene equipment e.g. sound level meters and dosimeters
  • Working knowledge of relevant OSHA health standards

  • Work experience in the petrochemical industry is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work and navigate safely through an industrial setting
  • Ability to climb structures, work at heights and wear respiratory protection
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong computer skills (relational databases, spreadsheets, and word processing)
  • Self-starter and highly motivated

Responsibilities

  • Industrial hygiene monitoring
  • Respond to general industrial hygiene field requests (e.g. ventilation tests, noise level testing)
  • Participation in the emergency response on-call schedule
  • Quantitative and qualitative data entry and general database management
  • Industrial hygiene monitoring support for emergency response activities
  • Industrial hygiene equipment management
  • Deliver field level industrial hygiene training
