This role requires the ability to inspect, maintain, repair, perform preventive maintenance, and calibrate Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems, Chiller Systems, NH3 Refrigeration Systems, and Refrigeration Appliances. This includes all associated controls, such as gauges, flow switches, recorders, solenoids, and valves. The technician must possess knowledge of refrigeration, instrumentation, and electrical theory to assess the performance of refrigeration systems using test equipment and adjust them for efficient and safe operation. Previous experience as a refrigeration technician/mechanic or in related commercial/industrial fields is necessary. Familiarity with diagnostic and repair equipment is required, as is the ability to use laptop computers with PLC software for troubleshooting electronic and instrumentation issues. Desktop computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are also essential. The RSCA and RSCB are not training classifications.
