About The Position

This position is for an Industrial First Aid Responder. The hourly range for this role is $26 to $28.5/hr., commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: First aid responders will keep all pre-employment and annual training up to date. Training includes instruction and knowledge demonstration of site-specific safety protocols, emergency response protocols, and the hazardous chemicals commonly found in refineries including but not limited to: Benzene, Sulfur Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Methanol, Toluene, Hydrofluoric acid (HF), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Sulfuric Acid, Ammonia, and Caustics First aid responders will participate in emergency response team training each month and attend safety training meetings weekly. Shift duties include but are not limited to: Standbys for emergency response team Emergency response team training Participation in hearing conservation program Audiograms at the direction of the battalion chief Fit testing at the direction of the battalion chief Seasonal training including participating in dehydration prevention program Monthly equipment checks Medical supply checks including service dates and expiration dates Compliant medical record documentation End of shift time entry The First Aid Industrial Responder will report to the Battalion Chief. Selected applicants will be expected to work varying shift patterns as needs arise, however the scheduled two-week work rotation is below. The plant operates 24 hours, 7 days per week. Shifts are 12 hours. 0700-1900 and 1900-0700. Schedule Week 1: Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Schedule Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pre-hospital setting
  • Valid EMT credentials
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR and AED
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Candidates are expected to develop and maintain relationships with local response agencies including Coffeyville Fire, CRMC EMS, and the CVR safety team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in industrial emergency response
  • Mass casualty training
  • Selected applicants must complete onsite mass casualty training as directed by the battalion chief within 6 months of employment.
