Industrial Field Equipment Technician – Tank Services (CDL A Required)
About The Position
Transco Rail Services, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is expanding its field services team and seeking hands-on, mechanically inclined professionals for a career in industrial equipment and field operations. This role involves operating specialized industrial equipment, transporting equipment using CDL vehicles, performing hands-on field work such as setup and rigging, supporting industrial tank cleaning and maintenance, conducting basic equipment maintenance, ensuring safe handling of equipment, and traveling up to 75% to support field operations. This is an active, hands-on role focused on operating equipment, solving problems, and keeping operations moving.
Requirements
- CDL Class A license (manual preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude (experience as a mechanic, millwright, equipment operator, or similar trade)
- Ability to work in physically demanding, industrial environments
- Willingness to travel regularly for project-based work, 75% required
- Strong commitment to safety
- Clean shave required for respirator use
Nice To Haves
- Experience with industrial equipment, pumps, or heavy machinery
- Background in field services, construction, industrial maintenance, or environmental services
- Experience working with rigging, lifting, or load securement
Responsibilities
- Operate specialized industrial equipment (pumps, heaters, cranes, and cleaning systems)
- Transport equipment to job sites using CDL vehicles
- Perform hands-on field work, including setup, rigging, and equipment connections
- Support industrial tank cleaning and maintenance operations
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ensure safe handling, rigging, and movement of equipment
- Work closely with your team to execute projects efficiently and safely
- Travel as needed (up to ~75%) to support field operations
