About The Position
The Student Program at Nexteer Automotive offers high-potential students meaningful opportunities to apply classroom learning in a professional environment while gaining hands-on experience and valuable industry exposure. This position will allow the student to assist with supporting manufacturing operations by maintaining process documentation and participating in continuous improvement activities. The student would reside and work in Plant 4, where Driveline components are produced for original equipment manufacturers.
Requirements
- Candidate must be attending a 2 year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
- Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Engineering
- Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
- Up to 40 in the summer
- Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
- Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
- Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship

Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining plant floor layouts
- Participate in lean manufacturing continuous improvement efforts
- Support the upkeep of a continuous improvement room
- Conduct and analysis basic manufacturing data
- Update work instructions for manufacturing operations
- Update visual aids for manufacturing operations
- Generate power point presentations
- Assist supervisor in any administrative work
- Work with dynamic operations teams to enhance manufacturing production
